Route

From Istanbul
to Preveza

A comprehensive 8-day route — covering the most striking historic, natural and cultural beauty of Greece, at a hard level.

Day 1

Istanbul → Kavala → Thessaloniki

Leaving Istanbul, we cross the border on the flowing roads of Thrace, following the Aegean coastline to reach Kavala. We continue along roads where the sea meets the mountains, taking our first break in Thessaloniki by the end of the day.

Day 2

Thessaloniki → Meteora

Leaving Thessaloniki behind, we climb towards the interior of Greece. Our ride continues through roads winding between the mountains, changing altitudes and wide valleys; by the end of the day we reach Meteora, in the shadow of its towering rock pillars.

Day 3

Meteora → Parga

In the morning we leave the striking rock formations of Meteora behind and set off towards western Greece. Crossing the winding roads of the Pindus Mountains, we descend towards the Ionian Sea, reaching Parga by the end of the day with its deep blue sea and lush greenery.

Day 4

Parga → Preveza → Sivota

Today our route runs entirely along the Ionian coast. Leaving Parga, we follow the coastal roads stretching to Preveza, continuing towards the stunning bays of Sivota amid sea views and winding curves.

Day 5

Sivota → Lamia

Leaving the Ionian coast behind, we head back into the interior of Greece. As we move towards Central Greece amid mountain passes, long curves and wide panoramic views, the character of the road constantly changes; by the end of the day we stay overnight in Lamia.

Day 6

Lamia → Damouchari

Today our route takes us to the lush green mountains and Aegean coastline of the Pelion Peninsula. Following narrow, enjoyable roads winding through the forests, we glide down from the heights towards the sea, reaching the small and peaceful coastal settlement of Damouchari by the end of the day.

Day 7

Damouchari → Maroneia (Komotini)

Leaving the Aegean coast behind, we head north towards Thrace. After a long ride combining mountain and coastal roads, we advance into northeastern Greece, reaching the area around Maroneia and Komotini by the end of the day, preparing for the final stage of our return journey.

Day 8

Maroneia (Komotini) → Istanbul · Return

On our final day, we head towards the Turkish border on the calm, flowing roads of Western Thrace. Leaving behind the mountains, coastlines and varied roads of Greece, we cross the border and complete our eight-day Grand Greece adventure in Istanbul.
