A Weekend in
the Rhodope Mountains

From Komotini to Kardzhali, from the mountain views of Pamporovo to the historic streets of Plovdiv — an intense weekend getaway at a moderate/hard level, on the most striking roads of the Rhodope Mountains.

Character of the Tour: Motorcycle riding, nature, mountain roads and cultural discovery
Road Character: Mostly asphalt; the flowing roads of Thrace, the winding roads of the Rhodope Mountains and forest-lined curving routes
Riding Program: Two days of intense motorcycle riding across varied roads and landscapes
Daily Riding: Approximately 500-600 km / 8-10 hours
Route Character: A route stretching from the flowing roads of Thrace to the rising and falling, winding, forest-lined roads of the Rhodope Mountains, reconnecting to more flowing routes on the way back

Equipment: Full protective technical motorcycle equipment suitable for the season and weather conditions is mandatory.

Prerequisite: Completion of Safe and Advanced Riding training is required to join this tour. Proof of qualification will be requested.

From Istanbul
to the Rhodopes

An intense 2-day route — a weekend itinerary at a moderate/hard level, covering the most striking roads of the Rhodope Mountains.

Day 1

Istanbul → Komotini → Kardzhali → Pamporovo → Plovdiv

Setting off from Istanbul, we leave the flowing roads of Thrace behind and cross into Bulgaria via Komotini. After Kardzhali, we enter the Rhodope Mountains, following roads that climb and wind; enjoying the ride through forest-lined curves, we reach Pamporovo. Leaving the mountains behind, we complete the day in Plovdiv.

Day 2

Plovdiv → Devin → Smolyan → Madan → Ivaylovgrad → Edirne → Istanbul

As soon as we leave Plovdiv, we return to the winding roads of the Rhodope Mountains. The forest roads stretching between Devin, Smolyan and Madan set the rhythm of the ride with constantly changing altitude, long curves and striking mountain views. Leaving Bulgaria via Ivaylovgrad, we head to Edirne, then follow the roads of Thrace back to Istanbul.

Important Information

This tour is at a Moderate / Hard riding level. Covering approximately 1,172 km in two days, with long daily stages, intense curves and varying altitude, participants are required to have sufficient motorcycle riding experience.

Participants are advised to have completed Safe and Advanced Riding training beforehand.

Participants must hold a valid passport for the duration of their travel dates and must have obtained the necessary visa or travel permits for entry into Bulgaria in advance. Verifying the validity and adequacy of passports, visas and other official travel documents is the participant's own responsibility.

Compliance with traffic rules and legal regulations in force in both Türkiye and Bulgaria is mandatory.

The tour programme may be changed for operational reasons depending on weather, road and border-crossing conditions.
